Kevin MacDonald: Back in August, Edmund Connelly wrote about a culture of corruption that pervades the Orthodox Jewish community in New York and New Jersey. Solomon Dwek's rabbi father renounced him after he informed on money laundering within the community as part of a plea bargain in his case of bank fraud. Now New Jersey.com reports that the feds are investigating Dwek's charitable contributions. The basic scheme is to contribute to a Hassidic charity in order to get a tax write-off, but then receive kickbacks of up to 95% of the money from the charity. But it's far wider than just Dwek: "In Los Angeles, more than 100 contributors to a Hasidic Jewish sect in Brooklyn are being investigated by the U.S Attorney for the Central District of California in connection with the same kind of kickbacks spelled out in the New Jersey cases." Those involved are often religious leaders and the wealthy: A similar scheme led to federal charges in 2007 against the Grand Rabbi of Spinka, the spiritual leader of an Orthodox sect based in Brooklyn. Millions of dollars were contributed to Spinka organizations from donors who secretly got back up to 95 percent of their money — despite declaring all of it as charitable giving on their federal income taxes. Grand Rabbi Naftali Tzi Weisz, 61, of Brooklyn pleaded guilty earlier this year in Los Angeles, where the case was prosecuted, and is awaiting sentencing. One of the contributors to the Spinka charities, David Hager, 55, of Los Angeles, was sentenced earlier this year to six months in federal prison after pleading to two counts of tax evasion. He was accused of claiming deductions for contributions that had been reimbursed at a rate of 90 cents for every dollar he donated. Hager was worth over $400 million, according to court records. Alex Kurtagic: The useless and corrupt Labour government has saddled each man, woman, and child in the United Kingdom with tens of thousands of pounds of debt, not only through endemic mismanagement, waste, short-sightedness, knee-jerk reaction, political correctness, and bungling idiocy, but also through their attempts at bailing out the greedy banks. Short of a miracle, this debt cannot and will never be paid: in a monetary system where money is backed by nothing, and is therefore created through debt, were all debts in the economy to be paid, there would be not one penny in circulation. Yet, for electoral reasons, as well as out of a fear of public unrest (which could, given the right set of circumstances, lead to revolution and the current establishment being swept out of power and their ideas purged from all institutions) As part of his electoral and public relations initiative, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has announced a drive to cut the ballooning budget deficit. The talk is, as usual, about making "tough decisions". But the savings are puny in relation to the debt: a mere £3bn versus a yearly borrowing of £175bn – less than 0.25% of GDP versus a 13% deficit. At the same time, the useless and corrupt Labour government is funding the completely irrelevant and counter-productive Department for International Development to the tune of £5.7bn, and is planning to increase that to £7.8 for the year 2010-11. (The Conservatives, the new New Labour, havestated their resolve to "protect the international development budget from spending cuts", no matter what the circumstances) Therefore, talk of "tough decisions" is piffle. And piffle that conceals the government's betrayal of the people whose interests they are supposed to represent (and never seem to do): they have impoverished Britons while giving away national wealth to foreign nations that have no love for Britain except as a resource they can exploit – and, unless removed from the seats of power, they plan on doing this even more, for as long as there are people on the planet whose standard of living falls short of Western standards. Here is an idea: close down the Department for International Development and bring those annual savings up to £11bn. The DFID should not exist. As I have argued before, "Development" is a euphemism for cultural imperialism, whereby utopian liberals seek to force Third World societies into convergence with the Western European model, to create a world of placid, apolitical, coffee-colored consumers, where the latter are farmed for tax money and the liberal oligarchs stay in power forever. (After all, larger markets mean richer capitalist plutocrats who are better able to fund liberal politicians. Kevin MacDonald: The New York State Senate voted against gay marriage: In the debate before the vote, "Eighteen senators [supporting gay marriage] gave impassioned speeches, often about family members who survived the Holocaust and discrimination and would want gays to be equal under law." This is a remarkable commentary on the usefulness of the Holocaust to advance the destruction of the traditional culture of the West. (Of course, the other main usefulness of the Holocaust is in defending anything that Israel does.) I have nothing against homosexuals. As I noted previously, "Homosexuals have ethnic interests just like everyone else, and they can promote those interests even if they don't themselves have children. It seems to me that one way for homosexuals to promote their ethnic interests is to acknowledge heterosexual marriage as a specially protected cultural norm — its special status guaranteed because of its critical importance in creating and nurturing children." These Jewish activists are not interested in defending or creating a culture that is adaptive for White Americans. Their attitudes are entirely determined by their Jewish identity. And since the Enlightenment, the main thrust of Jewish intellectual and political activism has been motivated by hostility to the people and culture of the West. The same "logic" often surfaces when Jewish activists defend massive non-White immigration. As Charles Silberman pointed out, "American Jews are committed to cultural tolerance because of their belief—one firmly rooted in history—that Jews are safe only in a society acceptant of a wide range of attitudes and behaviors, as well as a diversity of religious and ethnic groups. It is this belief, for example, not approval of homosexuality, that leads an overwhelming majority of U.S. Jews to endorse 'gay rights' and to take a liberal stance on most other so-called 'social' issues." Indeed, as Earl Raab famously noted, The Census Bureau has just reported that about half of the American population will soon be non-white or non-European. And they will all be American citizens. We have tipped beyond the point where a Nazi-Aryan party will be able to prevail in this country. We [Jews] have been nourishing the American climate of opposition to bigotry for about half a century. That climate has not yet been perfected, but the heterogeneous nature of our population tends to make it irreversible— Charles Dodgson: 57.5% of Swiss voters have approved banning the construction of further minarets in a referendum held on November 29. The will of the Swiss people has been condemned by spokesmen for Islamic groups, the United Nations, and the European Union. In addition large Swiss multinational corporations have expressed concern that the vote could endanger markets for their products. However, Charles Dodgson: The Sunday Telegraph reports that the BBC is trying to broaden the appeal of the highbrow Radio 4 network to attract more "ethnic" listeners ("Radio 4 to get in tune with ethnic listeners", 29 Nov. 2009, p. 13; and see the Daily Mail report.) Critics claim that only 2% of listeners are Asian or black. The BBC has commissioned research to discover the diversity of Radio 4 listerners. Research included focus groups with Muslims and Hindus in which they were asked for advice on programming. The review followed criticism in 2001 from Greg Dyke, the former director general of the BBC, that the corporation was "hideously white". Despite there being many minority presenters on Radio 4 the present controller of the network, Mark Damazer, apparently agrees that the BBC is "too white" because he met with minority activists to seek guidance on how to meet their wishes. One such meeting was held with Ashok Viswanathan, a founder of Operation Black Vote, who remarked: "Radio 4 is still too white and has a tweetness to it, but their response to the criticism has been positive and what we're hearing is encouraging." One result of the new approach will be a programme starting in January to be hosted by Nenjamin Zephaniah, a poet belonging to the black consciousness Comment: The news signals a step-up in multiculturalism by the BBC and a retreat from assimilationism, in which immigrants are expected to adopt the folkways of the indigenous society. Yet multicutluralism was officially dumped by the Labour government following the 2006 terror bombings in the London transport system. Notice that Anglo ethnic sensibilities are given practically no voice, while open minority self-interest is taken seriously. English and British ethnicity is not even named, as if only minorities have ethnicity. The changes are intended to provide Radio 4 with a "distinctly ethnic angle", as if its content has not always consisted of English and British culture. According to this view the only identity the English have is their whiteness and that is illegitimate. The irony! It seems that when the purpose suits the liberal establishment and minority activists are happy to adopt the racial categories employed by the neo-Nazi right. The denial of Europeans' ethnic identity is one of the most poisonous lies spread by our liberal elites. The language of this report, relayed without revision by the conservative Telegraph, reflects a root cause of Britain's surrender to Third World immigration.
