"Ralph Nader's 2004 Tampering Lawsuit Getting Day in Court", in Sun Journal (Lewiston), November 4, 2010. p. A2.

In 2004, the presidential campaign of Ralph Nader filed a lawsuit against the Maine Democratic Party alleging abuse of process and wrongful use of civil proceedings. Nader alleged that the Democratic Party used a nationwide campaign of lawfare to keep him off the ballot in 2004. Ultimately, Nader filed 29 lawsuits against the Democratic Party and its state subsidiaries in 18 states, using 95 lawyers in 53 law firms. After 6 years of pretrail litigation, the first hearing will be in Maine's Washington County Superior Court on Friday (November 5).
