The Daily Beast reports that Joe Lieberman "worked tirelessly in rounding up enough votes for the Senate to repeal the don't ask don't tell policy." What's interesting is his motivation: ""I'm a Jewish-American, a member of a minority group raised from the earliest part of my life to be deeply grateful for all the rights and opportunities and freedom afforded Americans."
That reminds of a quote from Charles Silberman's A Certain People in the chapter on immigration in The Culture of Critique:
American Jews are committed to cultural tolerance because of their belief—one firmly rooted in history—that Jews are safe only in a society acceptant of a wide range of attitudes and behaviors, as well as a diversity of religious and ethnic groups. It is this belief, for example, not approval of homosexuality, that leads an overwhelming majority of U.S. Jews to endorse "gay rights" and to take a liberal stance on most other so-called "social" issues.
A footnote continues:
Moreover, a deep concern that an ethnically and culturally homogeneous America would compromise Jewish interests can be seen in Silberman's (1985, 347–348) comments on the attraction of Jews to "the Democratic party . . . with its traditional hospitality to non-WASP ethnic groups. . . . A distinguished economist who strongly disagreed with Mondale's economic policies voted for him nonetheless. 'I watched the conventions on television,' he explained, 'and the Republicans did not look like my kind of people.' That same reaction led many Jews to vote for Carter in 1980 despite their dislike of him; 'I'd rather live in a country governed by the faces I saw at the Democratic convention than by those I saw at the Republican convention' a well-known author told me."
In other words, it's all about fear and loathing of a homogeneous White, Christian culture that prizes heterosexuality. Jewish voting behavior has nothing to do with economics (83% voted for Obama despite their high socioeconomic class profile) but everything to do with creating a powerful coalition against the traditional people and culture of America.
As I have argued several times, homosexuals have ethnic interests like everyone else and therefore White homosexuals should be on board with a movement that advances White interests. Homosexuality is largely the result of biological influence—an interesting topic in its own right. For example, the powerful pressures for marriage and children in traditional human societies ensured that people with gay tendencies passed on their genes. Ironically, perhaps, the contemporary culture of homosexual legitimacy (along with phenomena like AIDS) implies that there is natural selection against genes for homosexuality: Unlike the past, homosexuals now feel no pressure to marry and have children.
The point is that all Whites, including homosexuals, have an interest in creating a culture that prizes strong families, children, and heterosexuality. White gay people should realize it is in their interest to acquiesce in a culture in which homosexuality is not publicly visible. From that perspective, "Don't ask, don't tell" made excellent policy sense. Its demise is yet another blow to the culture of heterosexuality that has been a healthy, adaptive norm in all human cultures.
Despite the fact that traditional Jewish culture strongly opposes homosexuality (Christians are now beingpersecuted in Canada for citing the ban on homosexuality in Leviticus), Orthodox Jews like Lieberman instinctively understand that support of public homosexuality is a blow to the traditional people and culture of America despite the fact that it strongly conflicts with their own religion. They therefore celebrate their victory over "Don't ask, don't tell."

CBS Airs Fake George W. Bush Cover Mocking 'Decision Points'
When CBS News aired a special on book covers this past Sunday, not many took notice. That is until George W. Bush's new book "Decision Points" popped up on the screen. That's because the cover the network showed was not only the wrong one, but it was also mocking the former president.
Yes, you're reading that right. CBS aired a Bush book cover that says, "Desision Points: How I Managed to Go Eight Years without Making One Good Decision." CBS has since backpedaled, saying it was an unintentional mistake:
"Good catch: it's a mistake no one could see because you'd have to freeze the frame to notice it. Another cautionary tale about the risks of the internet age – clearly, we have to be more careful when downloading material."
According to Newsday, a production assistant made the mistake because of deadline pressure and pulled the image off the internet. The picture seems to have originated on the satirical website "Drudge Retort," although some outlets have confused it as originating from the the actual website Drudge Report.
CBS has since removed the video showing the gaffe.

No bias there….. if FOX did this on an Obama book cover, Olbermann and crew would be all over it and complaining to the FCC, but since it's the guy they love to hate, not a peep will be heard, or if it is, they'll be congratulating CBS. Pathetic.

Poll: Americans Believe in Country's 'Exceptionalism' but Does Obama?
By and large, Americans agree that the United States is a nation with distinct character, anchored in a unique history and its constitutional republicanism. But a recent Gallup poll suggests a number of them doubt President Barack Obama feels the same way.
According to Gallup, at least 73 percent of Americans believe in "U.S. exceptionalism," including a 91 percent of Republicans. But, at the same time, three-quarters of those who believe the U.S. is exceptional say they worry America's status in the world is far from secure and believe the U.S. is at risk of losing its unique character.

U.S. Government Piles on $2 Trillion in Additional Debt in 2010
According to a U.S. Treasury report released Tuesday, the U.S. government fell $2 trillion deeper into debt during fiscal 2010 as government debt and promised federal benefits increased, bringing the nation's 2010 deficit to more than $13.5 trillion compared to $11 trillion in 2009.

Israel's Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority in the last decade has added about 1.4 million names to its central database of Shoah victims' names, bringing the total number of names registered to about 4 million, according to a statement released Tuesday.
"One of Yad Vashem's central missions since its foundation, the recovery of each and every victim's name and personal story, has resulted in relentless efforts to restore the names and identities of as many of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their accomplices as possible," said Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev. "We will continue our efforts to recover the unknown names, and by harnessing technology in the service of memory, we are able to share their names with the world."
In 2004, Yad Vashem launched the central database of Shoah victims' names onto its website with 3 million names. Names are recovered via Pages of Testimony, special forms filled out in memory of the victims by those who remember them, and by combing archival lists and documentation for names.
Of the 4 million names now known, some 2.2 million come from Pages of Testimony and the remainder from various archival sources and postwar commemoration projects.
