Jones elicits response from counter-protestors
Jones and his assistant Wayne Sapp took turns for about an hour at the top step of City Hall, addressing a hundred or so supporters and as many as 500 counter-demonstrators that showed up.
Speaking through a muffled public address system that was often drowned out by the chants of counter-demonstrators, car horns and a low-flying Michigan State Police helicopter, the men preached their message of the U.S. Constitution over Shari'a, or Islamic, law.
Much of their speeches had a Crusades vibe to it, with both men interspersing words of the Gospel with grave warnings about spreading radical Islam in Europe and the danger of it happening in the Unit




Upon deciding the JDL was too liberal for his tastes, Mordechai Levy founded the JDO. He and his devoted followers will be staging a demonstration on Sunday, Oct. 24 to demand the eviction of long time New York resident Michael Santomauro.
