The Village Voice
July, 1979

Mordechai Levy and associates attack Fritz Berg, severely kicking and beating him inside St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. Mr. Berg had been involved with the Ridgewood Group, an organization that had filed a complaint and petition with the FCC against NBC's broadcast of the Holocaust miniseries. Levy, 19, is apprehended by authorities and charged with assault.

A chronicle of Levy's exploits from the late seventies to 1982, at which time he founded the Jewish Defense Organization. He left the JDL because it was "not militant enough."

Mr. Levy is manhandled out of a courtroom where he put in a special guest appearance to shriek obscenities at several Klansmen.

August 1985

Mr. Levy on the bombing of a 61-year old man (suspected by the intrepid Levy to be a war criminal) whose leg was amputated as a result: "The only thing I regret is that instead of losing his legs, he should have lost his life."



The New York Daily News
August, 1989

A feud between Mr. Levy and his JDL rivals results in Levy's spraying of gunfire from a roof top shortly after noon in Manhattan. Miraculously only one innocent bystander is harmed. Levy is subsequently convicted of "wanton and reckless disregard for human life," and serves four months of a four year sentence.

The Jewish Defense Organization assaults David Willcox, founder of American Friends of Palestine, and four or five other peaceful protesters of the opening of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.

April, 2000

JDO leader Mordechai Levy faces sentencing for kicking a 12-year old boy in the testicles. The boy was attending the JDO's summer camp.
