Housing Collapse Steeper Than During Great Depression
Fox News

The author of a study claiming the U.S. housing collapse is now worse than during the Great Depression warned Wednesday that the market likely will continue to fall for the rest of the year before going stagnant. Paul Dales, senior U.S. economist for Capital Economics, predicted home prices would fall another three percent over the rest of 2011 before potentially hitting bottom. "Even when that happens, I don't think we're going to see any significant or sustained rises," he told FoxNews.com Wednesday, predicting "a couple years of pretty much no recovery whatsoever."

Outrage In Egypt Over Israeli Atrocities During 1967 War

Despite a historic peace treaty between Egypt and Israel, the heritage of two wars in two decades still leaves unexpected and bitter traces. Last week new disclosures that Israeli soldiers massacred Egyptian pows during the 1967 war added to a growing wave of anti-Israeli sentiment in Egypt. The sequence of events leading to the unearthing of two mass graves outside the Sinai city of El Arish last week began a month ago with admissions by Israeli war veterans that unarmed Egyptian civilians and PoWs were murdered in the 1956 and 1967 wars.

Actually, That's Not In the Bible

.. .. The Bible may be the most revered book in America, but it's also one of the most misquoted. Politicians, motivational speakers, coaches - all types of people - quote passages that actually have no place in the Bible, religious scholars say.

The US: Where Europe Comes to Slum
Harold Meyerson -- Los Angeles Times
http://articles.latimes.com/2011/may/15/opinion/la-oe-meyerson-europeans-20110515

.. .. Slumming in America is fast becoming a business model for some of Europe's leading companies, and they often do things here they would never think of doing at home. These companies - not banks, primarily, but such gold-plated European manufacturers as BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen and Siemens, and retailers such as IKEA - increasingly come to America (the South particularly) because labor is cheap and workers have no rights. In their eyes, we're becoming the new China. Our labor costs may be a little higher, but we offer stronger intellectual property protections and far fewer strikes than our unruly Chinese comrades .. .. Once again, we're where Europe comes to slum - in the low-wage factories of the South and the run-down houses of South Los Angeles.

My Life as a Revisionist (1983-1987)
Robert Faurisson

.. .. For several years I had realized that as soon as the press made public my opinions about Revisionism I would encounter a storm of opposition. By its very nature Revisionism can only disturb the public order; where certitudes quietly reign, the spirit of free inquiry is an intrusion and shocks the public .. .. For a long time to come it will be the lot of the Revisionists to work in obscurity and danger. Their adventure is similar to that of the Renaissance, in which certain individuals, in varying degrees throughout Europe, simultaneously and spontaneously took it upon themselves to struggle against obscurantism.

Palestinians in Israel: There May Be Trouble Ahead
The Economist (Britain)
http://www.economist.com/node/18741300

.. .. The 160,000 Palestinians who survived the 1948 war and stayed in what became Israel in order to remain close to their ancestral homes now number 1.3 million. Long marginalised as a rather stranded little community, they have seldom received much international attention compared with the 4.1 million Palestinians who live in the occupied territories. Now two books about them have appeared simultaneously, complementing one another .. ..The rift between Jewish and Arab Israelis, always wide, is growing dangerous. Though there is no evidence that the general Palestinian mood is becoming violent, they discern a distinct rise in radicalism.
