WASHINGTON - March 23 - Shortly after announcing Israel's commitment to defense in his address to the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Gala, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was disrupted by a demonstrator. Rae Abileah, 27, from Half Moon Bay, CA, jumped onto AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr's private table alongside the stage and unfurled a pink banner that said "Netanyahu: Build Peace Not Settlements!" Abileah shouted, "Lift the siege of Gaza! No illegal settlements!" as she was forcefully removed from the building. A second disruption came moments later from Joan Stallard, from Washington, DC, who shouted, "Stop the settlements!"

Today, Tuesday, March 23, at noon CODEPINK is planning to build a settlement (including homes and beds) inside Senator Schumer's and Senator Lieberman's offices (Hart Senate Building, offices 313 and 706). CODEPINK's protests of the policies of AIPAC during their national conference this week have included daily morning protests, staging of a checkpoint for attendees, an afternoon press conference announcing the launch of a city-wide boycott of products illegally made in the settlements, and the release this morning of a spoof press release from AIPAC announcing that the organization was calling for a settlement freeze.

American Jewish peace activists are outraged at the influence that AIPAC has on U.S. policy. "AIPAC supports policies of aggression that damage Israel's reputation, harm innocent Palestinians, and contribute to making America less safe in the world," said Jewish-American activist Medea Benjamin of CODEPINK."

The statement by Rosen quoted in above is from a Jerusalem Post interview, but try as I might I couldn't find it on the JP site or elsewhere.

Zionism's Dark Forces Don't Want the Lights On

March 22, 2010 "Information Clearing House" - - At the opening of AIPAC's annual foreign policy conference its new president, Lee Rosenberg, was not a happy man. As he put it, "In recent days we have witnessed something (the Obama administration's initial public anger with Netanyahu and his government) very unfortunate."

The Biden "incident", Rosenberg said, was "regrettable", but Netanyahu had apologized "four separate times" and said "the announcement" (of more Jewish construction in occupied Arab East Jerusalem) was "hurtful and should not have been made." Quite so, Mr. Rosenberg. It would have been much better from Zionism's point of view if the announcement had not been made and Israel had just got on with the business of de-Arabizing East Jerusalem.

In any relationship even the best of friends were going to disagree, Rosenberg said, but it was "how friends disagree, how they react when missteps occur, that can determine the nature of the relationship."

Then he made his three key points:

"Number one, the people of Israel and the democratically elected government of Israel passionately believe in peace. And Israel is committed to its alliance with America.

"Number two, the United States and Israel both have a responsibility to work with one another and achieve that peace. That is what allies do.

"And three, allies should work out their differences privately."

That brought AIPAC's new president one of three standing ovations.

Why should disagreements between American administrations and Israeli governments be kept from the public?

Rosenberg's answer was: "History shows that when America pressures Israel publicly, it provides an opportunity for those who wish to derail the peace process to have their way."

Ah, so it's not Israel that is making peace impossible?

Rosenberg could not have been more explicit with AIPAC's take on that aspect of the matter.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let us be clear, the reluctant partner in this peace process is not Israel's elected leader Prime Minister Netanyahu. (Another standing ovation).

"The recalcitrant partner is the Palestinians and their leader – President Mahmoud Abbas.

"The Palestinians are bitterly divided between Hamas and Fatah – that is a problem. The failure of President Abbas to end his nay-saying and come to the table for direct talks which Prime Minister Netanyahu has been committed to from the start – that is a problem. The failure of the Arab world to begin normalizing its relationships with Israel – that is a problem.

"Israel is not the problem. Israel is America's partner. (The third standing ovation).

When I was a child my father often said to me, "Boy, there are none so blind as those who don't want to see."

But blind though AIPAC is for that reason, it's not completely out of touch with reality. It knows that the more Zionism's on-going colonisation is exposed to the light, the more the world understands that Israel is the obstacle to peace. (The world now includes some of the U.S.'s top military men who are going on the public record with their view that support for Israel right or wrong is not in the best interests of America).

If you are a Zionist, the case for keeping the lights off is a very strong one.

At the time of writing, I'm waiting, as no doubt many others are, to see if President Obama returns to his surrender mode when he meets with Netanyahu tomorrow.

Jeff Gates: "Anti-Semitism - What is it?"

 



Several of us among the incurably curious asked ourselves a simple question: what is anti-Semitism? That it must be written with a capital "S" says a lot.

Then we realized it also morphs. To that feature I can attest. In November 2002, I met a "John Doe" in London who proposed a research challenge. While meeting that challenge, I encountered various versions of anti-Semitism.

A colleague advised against this challenge. First he fretted at the criminal nature of what the research has since confirmed. Then he inquired about my safety. That said a lot. 

The colleague was M.I.T. Professor Noam Chomsky. For his criticism of Israeli policy, he was attacked as a self-hating Jew. Were he not Jewish, doubtless he would have been an anti-Semite. For critics of Israel, those are the only two options. He cautioned me:

You'll get the same thing: anti-Semitic, Holocaust denier, want to kill all the Jews, etc. It doesn't matter what the facts are. Bear in mind that you are dealing with intellectuals, that is, what we call 'commissars' and 'apparatchiks' in enemy states.

This series is a prologue to a forthcoming series on Delegitimization beginning April 1st. Is this anti-Semitism analysis relevant and topical? Note that Benjamin Netanyahu's brother just accused Barack Obama of anti-Semitism. Keep in mind that Clinton White House counsel Abner Mikva described Obama as "the first Jewish president."

I recently returned from ten days of briefings and interviews in Pakistan based on a 7-part series launched on Opinion-Maker, an influential Pakistani website. The first commentary generated 25,000 reads in the first 24 hours. Those of you unfamiliar with the back story to Guilt By Association may want to review two commentaries (here and here) as they identify the "John Doe" off whose multi-decade experience inside this trans-generational criminal syndicate the past seven years of research has pivoted.

Also urge that you review How Israel Wages War on the U.S. for a chronicle of the "how" of today's "field-based warfare." When waging mind warfare, the relevant battlefield is the shared field of consciousness where one of the most powerful weapons is the power of association. Note how the credibility of Colin Powell (a field-based property) was appropriated to displace facts with false beliefs about Iraqi WMD in plain sight and, to date, with impunity. 

While in Islamabad, I briefed cricket icon Imran Khan on the appropriation of his celebrity (another field-based property) so that, in practical effect, a sophisticated psy-ops campaign could breach the literacy barrier to inform and outrage tens of millions of Muslims with a classic agent provocateur operation that set off anti-U.S. demonstrations worldwide, including riots that killed 17 in Pakistan. Note the consistency with which the U.S. is made to appear the villain in these Israeli operations. Under ended, this relationship will continue to make us appear guilty by association.

This problem cannot be solved with hate any more than you can fight fire with fire. This war (and it is a war) must be fought with transparency, accountability and better design. The U.S. military may be recovering from its denial and reticence to press elected officials on the danger that Israel poses to U.S. interests. Perhaps we yet may see some semblance of representative government. See, for example, "How the Israel Lobby Took Control of U.S. Foreign Policy".

Informed Americans will look back on this period as a Dark Age when the facts required for informed consent were systematically displaced by Israelis and pro-Israeli operatives with the false, fixed and outright fabricated intelligence that enabled an enemy within to deploy our military to pursue what the Joint Chiefs cautioned Truman in 1948 was an agenda by "fanatics" determined to gain hegemony in the region. Make no mistake about it, what's being chronicled in these accounts is ongoing treason, a capital crime. With one honest U.S. Attorney willing to convene a grand jury, this systemic criminality could be exposed and the requisite criminal indictments issued to commence the accountability process.

WARSAW, Poland – Food coupons for some of the notorious Nazi doctors at the Auschwitz death camp — including perhaps the sadistic Dr. Joseph Mengele — have been found in the attic of a nearby house, where they had lain unseen for decades.

Also found in the attic were other documents relating to the lives of Nazi officials, including death certificates and a map.

Some sugar coupons bear the names of Horst Fischer and Fritz Klein, doctors who were executed for their crimes after the war, Adam Cyra, a historian at the Auschwitz memorial museum who is looking through the documents, said Monday.

"The sensational value of this discovery is in the fact that these original documents, bearing the names of main murderers from Auschwitz, were found so many years after the war," Cyra said.

Cyra said he believes a June 1943 coupon for a small amount of sugar probably was assigned to Dr. Joseph Mengele, who was infamous for his sadistic experiments, but the writing is unclear.

A February 1944 coupon for 0.28 kilograms of butter is made out for a Dr. Mergerle. There was no SS doctor by that name at camp, so Cyra believes a clerk misspelled Mengele's name.

Doctors and pharmacists at the camp conducted pseudo-medical experiments on the inmates and helped select Jews arriving at the camp for either labor or death. Mengele escaped after World War II and evaded capture for the rest of his life.

The documents — almost 300 in total — were found in the attic of a house being renovated in the town of Oswiecim, where the Nazis built the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.

The homeowner, who has requested anonymity, made them available to historians at the Auschwitz museum on Friday, museum officials said. They believe the house was used by an SS officer during the war, but it is not clear which one.

Historians have checked through some of the documents but have more to pore over, museum spokesman Pawel Sawicki said.

The material does not document crimes committed at the camp.

The documents include a German-language map of the area around Oswiecim and a death certificate for Adolf Kroemer, a pharmacist at Auschwitz, saying he died of a heart attack in February 1944.

About 150 blank food coupons and death certificates were also found, Cyra said.

Between 1940 and 1945 more than 1 million people, mostly Jews, were killed in the gas chambers at Auschwitz or died of starvation or disease while forced to perform hard labor at the camp.
