Take the cuckoo bird, who lays her eggs in other bird's nests to be raised by an unsuspecting host, who can't figure out the difference between a cuckoo chick and her own.  Not only does the idiot host raise the cuckoo chicks, but the cuckoo chicks push the other chicks right out of the nest…..ho ho, bon voyage sucker! the cuckoos, mother and chicks squawk at their marks.

To be cuckkolded at the human level is the ultimate disgrace, to raise another male's seed as your own.  Men used to kill over this sort of thing.
