in this case, as in many others i'm sure, donohue is full of shit...he makes the same cry baby attempt made by all lames: why are you criticizing me? others do the same thing....and bla bla bla...
if public schools are fucked up that doesn't make it any better that a screwed up catholic church has priests fucking with kids while hiding behind "religious" robes and not simply being bastard professionals - as is sometimes the case when public school teachers abuse children...but public school teachers aren't just sent to another school; they are fired, lose their professional status and they even go to jail for having sex with their students...especially if they are women having sex with younger boys...'
too many of these goddam priests go on "serving" god in other parishes and often screw other kids...its disgusting and the fact that one pope or another wasn't in charge all during the time of most cases becoming public doesn't change the fact that the church is covering up a problem and the pope is the leader-holy-ghost - ceo of the operation...
as for john paul i could give a shit whether he is canonized or circumsized or whether mary magdalen was a ho or moses was a transvestite...and i do think there has been some serious overkill in the case of some priests who have been falsely mailgned and suffered worse than some holocaust revisionists...
but that doesn't make this guy's sob story any better...
